This is the worst company ever, they take so long to answer the phone the shops cannot wait on hold, they will not refund you money if they do not pre-approve the work.
I called in for the shop and spent 4 hours on hold waiting, I used another phone in the shop called in just to be told I have been on hold in the wrong department. Once i finally get a hold of someone they denied my claim even though i had the top policy,
When I called in to cancel the policy the representative said and I quote "You ain't had nothing better to do than hold yo phone on hold for 4 hours.", then she said "Yo car aint going to get fixed over night" when i told her mine was already waiting just to have the part placed she then said, "That ain't how it works with Car Shield"
As a full time nursing student in an accelerated program, with a full time and a part time job i have plenty i could have done but seeing as i need my car i made the time to sit there.

-0000 SIGN CONTRACT IN CASE OF WORST SCENERIO... WITHIN 20 DAY PERIOD DROVE 507 MILES SC TO ATL,, ATL TO SC, SC TO NC,... CONTRACT STATES YOU HAVE TO HAVE DRIVEN OVER 500 MILES, I DROVE 7 MILES OVER 500 MILE MININUM, TRANSMISSION STARTS ACTING UP... CALL AMERICAN/CARSHIELD. ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO... TAKE 1999 LEXUS RX 300 TO DEALERSHIP PER AMERI/CARSHLD EXCUSES FOR 3 WEEKS TAKE VEHICLE TO MR. TRANSMISSION FOR 3 WEEKS, CAUSE OF FAILURE AND PICTURES... MR, TRANSMISSIONS ACCREDIATED 60 YEARS GIVE ALL INFO THEY NEED CLAIM APPROVED 2 WEEKS AGO... 4 DAYS AGO THEY FIRE ADJUSTER ON MY CLAIM HIRE NEW ADJUSTER AND INSPECTOR FOR MY CLAIM... INSPECTOR AND NEW ADJUSTER TAKES NEW PICS WHICH AMERICAN AUTO WILL NOT LET ME SEE... THEY CALL IT WEAR AND TEAR THEN THEY DISSAPPROVE CLAIM SAYING ITS METAL IN TRANSMISSION FLUID DID NOT HAPPEN WITHIN 507 MILES... YET FIRST ADJUSTER KNEW ALL THAT AND STILL THEY HAVENT TOLD ME THE MAIN OBJECTIVE FOR THEM TEAR DOWN THE TRANSMISSION DOWN WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE "CAUSE OF FAILURE" THIS. PAST WEEKEND RESEARCHED MY OWN TRANSMISSION... I GOOGLE "1999 LEXUS RX 300 TRANSMISSION ISSUES"... THIS POPS UP ALONG WITH ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT TRIED TO GET LEXUS TO RECALL THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL..."Problem: Certain 1999 Lexus RX300 models may experience an intermediate shudder or shake during the 2-3 shift under light throttle, once the transmission has reached operating temperature. Solution: This problem was caused by a design flaw in the valve body, which was corrected in later models." MORAL OF THE STORY AND MY REVIEW THEY ARE NOT GOING TO LET YOU WIN UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR YOUR OWN TRANSMISSION AND MIGHT NOT APPROVE THE CLAIM THEN... THEY WILL REPLY SOMETHING ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION WAS DARK AND IT HAD METAL IN IT BUT THEY STILL ARE LEAVING OUT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE... AND MY SPECIALIST TOLD THEM WHAT IT WAS AND THEY REFUSE TO PAY THE CLAIM THEY NEED TO BE FINED PROSECUTED AND OUT OF BUSINESS... ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS MUCH NEGATIVE ASSOCIATED WITH IT, WOULDVE BEEN OUT OF BUSINESS... AMERICAN AUTO DOES THE CLAIM FOR AMERICAN SHIELD SAME TAX BRACKET PROBLABY SAME OWNED JUST DIFFERENT TAX NUMBERS... SCAMMING THE SYSTEM ALL AROUND... AND DOING HELLUVA JOB AT IT... DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME AND MONEY USING CARSHIELD/AMERICAN AUTO SHIELD... Carshield DO NOT stand by their word

Carshield DO NOT stand by their word. They don't mean what they say.
For me to only have to pay a $100 deductible I wind up coming out of my pocket over $500. Don't say the agreement is one thing and you mean another.

I like CarShield only reason why I gave…

I like CarShield only reason why I gave only 4 stars was because I was told when I purchased my policy that it covered everything even my emissions but it’s not true

I haven't had the opportunity to use…

I haven't had the opportunity to use carshield because I had not needed service. I would not want my car to breakdown but knowing that the powertrain is protected by carshield
